Brad Schoenfeld, PhD, CSCS, CSPS, FNSCA, is widely regarded as one of the leading strength and fitness experts in the United States. Also, he was elected to the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s Board of Directors in 2012.

He is a regular columnist for Muscular Development magazine, has been published or featured in virtually every major fitness magazine (including Muscle and Fitness, MuscleMag, Ironman, Oxygen, and Shape), and has appeared on hundreds of television shows and radio programs across the United States.

It is a very good book on investing in quality companies. Investing is very difficult and there are so many exceptions to rules so there needs to breadth. Unfortunately, the only problem with the book is there is too much breadth and it is difficult to take away a framework that can be used for analyzing companies. It is a very good book that should be read and re-read. It is just written in a way that seems to have no linear path or a structure that can be used in analyzing companies.If you are interested in a framework for investing in quality companies must reads ahead of Quality Investing are Michael Mauboussin's Measuring a Moat Essay, Bruce Greenwald's Competition Demystified, Professor J.Carlos Jarillo's Strategic Logic, and Joan Magretta's Understanding Michael Porter.

The book was well written with plenty of examples. The book could have been a little deeper, but is good when taken at a high level.

Great read. As a value investor, I was skeptical of this approach to investing as it puts less credence on valuation and multiples, but the book makes a very strong argument that the market materially underprices quality businesses with enduring moats.

PAMELA NEWKIRK is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and Associate Professor of Journalism in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communications at New York University. She is the author of Within the Veil: Black Journalists, White Media. About the Author
Karen E. Woodin earned her M.S. in Applied Statistics at Western Michigan University and her Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the School of Public Health at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Dr. Woodin has over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including more than 20 years at The Upjohn Company/Pharmacia (now part of Pfizer), where she worked in the areas of biostatistics, clinical trial operations and monitoring and drug safety. She currently works as an independent consultant specializing in clinical trial operations, good clinical practices (GCPs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs). She works with investigative sites, sponsors and IRBs, and also develops and teaches courses in these areas. She is the author of The CRA's Guide to Monitoring Clinical Research, also published by CenterWatch. Dr. Woodin is a long-time member of the Drug Information Association (DIA) and has served on the DIA board of directors and as chair of the Steering Committee for the Americas. She has also developed and taught courses for DIA. She is a recipient of the DIA Outstanding Service award.
